Agricultural groundwater control in Iran

We visited project sites in the Iranian provinces of North Khorasan and Khorasan Razavi, where the installation of smart-meters on agricultural pumping wells by our partner RSA Electronics could successfully reduce the depletion of groundwater due to over-pumping. Through interviews with local farmers, authorities and our project partners we learned about water governance and the experiences with smart-meters in Iran in areas of similar geographical conditions as our project sites in China.
