Game test with ETH students
Students of Prof. Paolo Burlando played our groundwater game!
(Updated: )
On April 11, 2019 we brought our digital game "Save the Water" to the classroom to play with students of Prof. Paolo Burlando. Dr. Yu Li and the game designer Livio Lunin conducted this "unconventional" lecture, with the aim to test our digital version of the groundwater game before its application in a field survey in Guantao County.
The students were divided into two groups, with one group playing a policy based on water-fee, and the other playing a quota based policy. In total 16 students plus Prof. Kinzelbach joined the game-play test. Within 2 hours, all participants managed to finish the 10-round game in time without bankruptcy. And some fresh players even beat the records of our professor! Well done!
In the end, we collected 44 valid samples. Some results are shown in the end of this post, and players who either obtained the highest value of assets or the highest economic water productivity will claim their rewards! Detailed results and other materials about the game can be found external page here. For anyone who is interested in beating our winners ( but without reward :( ) , please use the following links to access the corresponding game.
