2018 spring irrigation

Time flies, and it is already the moment for farmers in Guantao County to start the new round of spring irrigation. 

This year in March, as usual, Dr. Lu Wang and Mr. Andreas Hagmann from our group went back to Guantao for conducting the 2018's pumping test for calibrating the energy-water conversion factors. This time, the experiment was extended to other towns besides Shoushansi. In addition to using the portable ultrasonic flowmeter and bucket method, our team also applied the approach which is being advocated in Hebei province, namely the portable mechanical flowmeter, for measuring the pumping rate in the study area.
